Chcete sa niečo dozvedieť o ničivej sile sopiek? Čo je to sopka, kde sa vyskytujú a ich ničivú silu si predstavíme na prednáške Svetové prírodné katastrofy – sopky, ktorá sa uskutoční v Múzeu Andreja Kmeťa vo štvrtok 15. mája 2025 o 16.00 hod.
Počas prednášky Vám Mgr. Andrej Bendík, PhD. predstaví sopečnú činnosť pred príchodom človeka, ale aj 18 najničivejších erupcií sopiek v dejinách ľudstva od roku 1650 pred naším letopočtom až po súčasnosť.
Formou 200 obrázkov a fotografií priblíži erupcie Vezuvu, ktorý pred 2100 rokmi pochoval tri mestá, najhlučnejší výbuch na Zemi spôsobený sopkou Krakatoa, sopky ktoré zmenili klímu na Zemi, ale aj súčasnú sopečnú činnosť na Islande.
Podujatie je súčasťou programu pravidelných popularizačno-náučných stretnutí v priestoroch múzea pod názvom „Štvrtky v múzeu“. Kapacita podujatia je limitovaná.
