School groups, from preschool through college, can take advantage of special discounted admission (€3 per student), which includes discounted admission for accompanying teachers. These tickets are available at the ticket office. School groups can also book a guided tour (at least 7 days in advance).

SNM - Museum of History It is an important part of the Slovak National Museum’s network of specialized museums. Its primary mission is the systematic acquisition, preservation, scientific and professional cataloging, utilization, and public presentation of museum collections documenting the development of society in Slovakia from the Middle Ages to the present. In this context of museum specialization, it operates nationwide. It also builds, manages, and catalogs a numismatic collection spanning from the earliest times to the present, as well as collections documenting the history and ethnocultural development of Slovaks abroad. The Historical Museum preserves a rich collection of artifacts.
The Historical Museum is located at Bratislava Castle.

Open daily except Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; last admission at 5:00 p.m.
The exhibitions at Bratislava Castle are open from Wednesday through Monday (inclusive); they are closed on Tuesdays.
The Bratislava Castle grounds are open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Access to the building for people with disabilities
The side entrance to the museum is equipped with wheelchair-accessible facilities; the museum ticket office will direct you there. There is also a wheelchair-accessible restroom at the castle.

How do you get here?
By public transportation: from Hodžovo Square – take trolleybuses 44 or 47 to the Hrad or Zámocká stop.
On foot from the Old Town: along Zámocká Street, or from under the SNP Bridge via the Castle Steps.
By car: parking in the underground garage, entrance from Palisády Street. Rates: €3/hour; visitors to the SNM – Historical Museum receive a 50% discount for up to 3 hours (parking card must be presented at the museum ticket office).
